A key asset that has kept MFG competitive for 70 years in the evolving world of composites manufacturing is the company’s dedicated R&D laboratory.

Located just a mile from MFG’s headquarters, MFG Research is among the largest and best-equipped in-house laboratories in the composites processing industry, providing expertise in materials testing, selection and process development, as well as testing for product integrity. The lab is A2LA-Accredited, Certificate #1280.01, for 37 tests.

This resource allows MFG to provide customers with accurate, fast-response technical support that enables product improvement, reduced fabrication cost and faster time to market.

Christine Ericksen Promoted to VP of MFG Research

In March, MFG announced that Christine Ericksen has been promoted to vice president of technology. She will report directly to President and CEO Richard S. Morrison.

Christine has served as laboratory director for MFG Research since 2016. She joined MFG in 2005 as an analytical chemist. In 2011 she transitioned to the position of materials scientist and was instrumental in the development of several advanced materials.

Reorganization of Alabama Entities

Two MFG operations located in Opp, Alabama have been refocused to help improve efficiency and effectiveness of the overall organization.

The former MFG Alabama Plant One will continue as MFG Alabama, under the leadership of General Manager Mike Gayford. The primary manufacturing focus is nacelles for wind turbines. Mike reports to Joe Cotman at MFG Corporate.
