On March first, David Giovannini was promoted to CEO of MFG — becoming only the third to hold the position in the company’s 73-year history. Richard Morrison, the company’s chief executive since 1987, will continue as executive chair of the board.
Dave joined MFG in 2010 as general manager of MFG South Dakota. He was promoted to senior vice president in 2012, and has since been responsible for the company’s wind energy group, which includes MFG South Dakota, as well as MFG Alabama, MFG Texas and MFG Energy Services Company. Dave has also provided ongoing leadership support to MFG de Mexico during periods of expansion.
Prior to joining MFG, Dave served in a succession of general and operational management positions with manufacturing organizations, including Polymarin Composites USA, Dresser-Rand Corp, and Tuthill Energy Systems/Coppus Engineering. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY.
During his tenure at MFG South Dakota, Dave and his wife Erin played active roles in Aberdeen. They now reside in Northeast Ohio and look forward becoming involved with their new community.
