General Motors recognized MFG Composites Systems Company (CSC) as Supplier of the Year for Structural SMC Body Parts at its 23rd annual event. Seventy-eight suppliers from around the world received various awards for performance above and beyond GM’s requirements.

Winners are chosen by a global team of GM purchasing, engineering, quality, manufacturing and logistics executives.

“These companies are the best-of-the-best suppliers, and deserving of special recognition for their outstanding contributions,” said Steve Kiefer, GM vice president, Global Purchasing and Supply Chain.

MFG CSC currently manufactures 26 structural parts for the Chevrolet Corvette and anticipates an increase in 2016.

“To receive acknowledgement from one of the largest car manufacturers in the world for being the best-in-class in a global supply chain is very gratifying,” explains CEO Richard Morrison. “This award is a result of a very good team effort — those involved with the GM program as well as those who keep the gears of the company moving.”
